Famous for its ancient baobab trees and massive elephant herds, Tarangire offers an intimate and less-crowded safari experience.

Tarangire National Park is one of Tanzania's best-kept secrets. While it may not have the fame of the Serengeti, those who visit Tarangire are often rewarded with some of the best wildlife viewing in East Africa — without the crowds.

The park is famous for two things: its enormous elephant herds (some of the largest in Tanzania) and its ancient baobab trees, which dot the landscape like something from a storybook. During the dry season, the Tarangire River becomes a lifeline, drawing thousands of animals to its banks.

Tarangire is also a birdwatcher's paradise, with over 550 species recorded. The mix of swamps, grasslands, and woodland creates a diverse habitat that supports an incredible variety of wildlife.
